According to the http://www.pinkvilla.com
Yesterday, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt attended a major paparazzi press conference where they shared updates about their upcoming plans and personal lives. During the event, Alia revealed that she would be attending this year’s Cannes Film Festival, expressing that she was both nervous and excited about the experience. Of course, their hit chemistry in Brahmastra also led to questions about Brahmastra 2.
There had been a lot of buzz surrounding the making of Brahmastra 2, but neither director Ayan Mukerji nor Ranbir Kapoor had confirmed anything positive until this press meeting. However, in the meeting, Ranbir Kapoor officially confirmed that Brahmastra 2 would indeed be made. He mentioned that soon, Ayan will start working on the film, and Brahmastra 2 is Ayan’s dream project. Ayan has already been working on the script for the film, but he is currently busy with War 2. Once War 2 is completed, Ayan will begin the pre-production of Brahmastra 2.
Regarding the delay in the film’s development, Ranbir stated that they are definitely making the movie. While they have not officially announced it yet, they are working hard and will soon make a special announcement. The first part of Brahmastra, titled Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, was directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Dharma Productions.
The film was a fictional story packed with high-end VFX and received a positive response from the audience. However, Ayan had left the story open-ended, which hinted at the possibility of a franchise. The first part was made with a huge budget of approximately 400 crores due to its extensive VFX requirements. While the film recovered its budget, it did not make a significant profit, earning around 430 crores in total. This led to rumors about the film being canceled due to the high budget.

Recently, Dharma Productions sold 50% of its stake in the film to Adar Poonawalla. Karan Johar had previously mentioned in an interview that he would prioritize smaller-budget films going forward, as big-budget films like Brahmastra take too long to break even, and by the time they do, the film may lose its momentum. It remains to be seen what decision Karan will make regarding Brahmastra moving forward.
