Wamiqa Gabi, who began her career in Punjabi cinema, is now making waves in Hindi films. Her upcoming movie Bhool Chook Maaf is set to be released soon. Recently, Wamiqa shared a funny and unusual story about her first meeting with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Wamiqa has gained significant recognition in the Hindi film industry recently. She made her Bollywood debut in Baby John, directed by Atali Kumar. Although she had previously appeared in several smaller roles, Baby John marked a major milestone, as she played the lead opposite Varun. Shah Rukh Khan made a brief appearance at the Muhurat of Baby John, where Wamiqa met him for the first time.
Wamiqa, who is currently promoting Bhool Chook Maaf, recalled the story during her promotional interviews. She explained that she had attended the Muhurat of Baby John several times, and Shah Rukh Khan’s presence there was a special occasion due to the success of his film Jawan with Atali Kumar. He was interacting warmly with the cast of the film, and it was during this time that Wamiqa met him.
Wamiqa shared that she and her brother Hardik were standing in a corner at the event, both excited about Shah Rukh’s presence. As she wondered what to say if he came near, her brother joked, “If Shah Rukh comes near you, you should cut your arm vein.” They both laughed at the silly remark. When Shah Rukh finally approached her and greeted her with a “hi,” Wamiqa, trying to keep the mood light, said, “It’s very nice to meet you, sir. My brother was saying that if you come near, I should cut my own vein, but of course, I won’t do that.”
However, as soon as Wamiqa finished speaking, Shah Rukh walked away, not fully understanding the joke. Wamiqa later admitted that the interaction was a bit awkward because Shah Rukh didn’t realize she was just joking.
Wamiqa is currently working on Bhool Chook Maaf, where she stars alongside Rajkummar Rao. Before this, she had worked in several Punjabi films, including Baby John and House of Spy.
