After an impressive box office opening, Akshay Kumar’s comedy-thriller Housefull 5 is now struggling to maintain momentum. The film faces tough competition from new releases, particularly Aamir Khan’s recently released Sitare Zameen Par, which has captured audience attention this weekend. On its third weekend, Housefull 5 managed to collect just ₹3.5 crore.
The film has completed 17 days in theatres, and although it opened strong, the third-week collections have seen a noticeable dip. Housefull 5 now finds itself competing against a lineup of newer releases. Its collection on the third weekend stands at ₹3.5 crore, pushing its total domestic earnings to ₹176 crore.
Housefull 5, a big-budget film, was released on 6th June. While the film opened well, the second and third weeks saw a sharp drop in collections. In its first week, it collected ₹127 crore, while in the second week, it managed only ₹40 crore. During its 15th, 16th, and 17th days in theatres, the film earned ₹2 crore, ₹2.5 crore, and ₹3.5 crore respectively.

The movie’s performance is being significantly affected by the popularity of Sitare Zameen Par, which has not only had a strong opening but is continuing to attract audiences in the following days. With the momentum shifting toward Aamir Khan’s emotional drama, it appears that audience preference is leaning in its favor.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is a star-studded comedy featuring Akshay Kumar alongside a cast of 20 actors. The film was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and made on a grand scale with a budget of ₹200 crore.
