A sequel to the Anshuman Jha-starrer Lakadbaggha has been officially confirmed by the makers. Once again, audiences can look forward to a fresh story revolving around the theme of animal love and protection.
This time, Anshuman Jha will not only reprise his role but also step behind the camera as the director of Lakadbaggha 2. The sequel will once again showcase his character fighting for animal rights, but this time the focus will shift to a different set of animals — monkeys and their conservation.
The makers are planning to develop Lakadbaggha into a franchise. While the first part was directed by Sanjay Shetty, due to creative differences, Shetty has exited the project, and Anshuman Jha has taken over the directorial duties.
The original Lakadbaggha (released in 2023) followed the story of a young animal lover in Kolkata who turns into a vigilante to stop illegal animal trafficking. Anshuman Jha played the lead role, supported by Riddhi Dogra, Milind Soman, and Paresh Pahuja. The film was a unique mix of animal advocacy and action-thriller.
In Lakadbaggha 2, the narrative will revolve around a different animal and present a fresh take on animal conservation, promising yet another compelling story for animal lovers and action fans alike.
