After a lull following the failure of his film Sikandar, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is now fully focused on his next big project, “Battle of Galwan.” The film is currently in pre-production, and reports have revealed three major shooting locations where the film will be shot.
Salman Reveals Intense First Look Poster
A few days ago, Salman Khan shared the first poster of Battle of Galwan on social media, where he revealed his intense look from the film. As per reports, shooting is set to begin in August 2025, and the film is based on the India-China clash of 2020 that took place in Galwan Valley.
The film will primarily be shot in Ladakh and Kashmir, the locations where the real events occurred.
Three Important Locations Finalized for Filming
According to sources, the filmmakers have finalized three key shooting locations:

Ladakh – The film’s first shooting schedule will take place here, with the entire cast and crew set to travel to the region. This schedule will focus on capturing the natural terrain and high-altitude visuals where the actual clash happened.

Mumbai – The second schedule will be shot in Mumbai. A large studio set is expected to be constructed to shoot critical indoor scenes and action sequences. These may include military briefings, base camps, and close combat scenes.

Kashmir – For the third and final schedule, the team will return to the north, this time to Kashmir, to complete the remaining portions of the film. The region’s landscape will serve as a backdrop for several dramatic war sequences.

A Story Based on the 2020 India-China Galwan Clash
The core of Battle of Galwan will depict the June 2020 violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. In this hand-to-hand combat battle, 200 Indian soldiers bravely fought against 1,200 Chinese troops without firing a single bullet. The clash involved batons, sticks, and physical combat rather than firearms.
According to official reports, 45 Chinese soldiers were killed, while 20 Indian soldiers were martyred, including Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, who led the Indian troops. Salman Khan will portray Colonel Santosh Babu, marking his first role as a real-life figure in his career.
Salman’s Major Comeback After a Series of Flops
Salman Khan has been facing a difficult phase at the box office. His last film Sikandar failed to perform well commercially. With Battle of Galwan, Salman is aiming for a strong comeback by choosing a patriotic and emotionally powerful subject that resonates with the audience.
