Ramayana already has a fixed release timeline and is scheduled to arrive in theatres during Diwali next year. However, Love and War is still searching for a suitable release date.
Uncertainty Around Bhansali’s Release Date
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has not yet announced an official release date for Love and War. Although a tentative date was decided earlier, delays in the shooting schedule forced the team to push the release further.
Due to this prolonged production and post-production timeline, the gap between Ramayana and Love and War has significantly reduced.
Ranbir’s Strategy: A Bigger Gap Between Both Films
This situation poses a challenge for Ranbir. His strategy is clear—there must be a considerable gap between the two films. He has therefore requested Bhansali and his team to complete the film’s shoot by March.

“Ranbir wants to ensure that there is at least a four-month gap between Love and War and Ramayana. Since the release date of Ramayana cannot be shifted, he has urged Bhansali’s team to release Love and War by June 2026.”
Even the Ramayana Team Supports the Decision
Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra also strongly supports this plan. He has urged Bhansali to release Love and War in June itself, ensuring that the romantic drama does not overshadow or affect the reception of Ramayana.
Currently, the shoot of Love and War is in progress, with Ranbir, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt all busy with their schedules. Earlier delays in shooting had already pushed the project further.
