It has been nearly a week since the release of the film Dhurandhar. Within just one week, the film has successfully recovered its large production budget and has now entered the profit zone. However, despite this massive success, the film had received strong negative reactions from critics even before its release. In response to this, actor R. Madhavan has expressed strong displeasure with the critics.

As the film completes one week in theatres, Dhurandhar has crossed more than ₹300 crore in worldwide box office collections. Before its release, however, the film was heavily underestimated in terms of its box office potential. A negative atmosphere was deliberately created around the film, and actress Yami Gautam had also raised questions regarding this negativity.

Now, R. Madhavan has personally stepped forward to strongly criticize these negative reviewers. According to him, the negativity spread about Dhurandhar was part of a larger, deliberate agenda. In the film, R. Madhavan plays the role of “I.V. Chip Ajay Sania.”

In an interview with a journalist, Madhavan stated that even his earlier films such as Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots had faced intentional criticism before their release. Therefore, he was mentally prepared for similar treatment in the case of Dhurandhar.

He further explained that when he observed director Aditya Dhar’s in-depth research, fearless thinking, and unique storytelling style for Dhurandhar, he became confident that the film would generate massive excitement and have a significant impact on Indian society.

Madhavan said, “I knew that initially some people would give the film very low ratings. But later, many viewers would be surprised after watching it and say that the film is truly outstanding.”

Addressing critics directly, he added that trolling a film and declaring it a flop even before its release is completely wrong. “Giving a review is your right, but it should be done after the film’s release. Labeling a film as a ‘disaster’ even after release, especially when you had already written it off earlier, raises questions about the critics’ intentions,” he said.
