Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate — Discover the Interesting Story Behind the Making of This Gujarati Superhit Film
according to the http://www.pinkvilla.com
Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate has emerged as the biggest hit in the Gujarati film industry this year. The film collected approximately ₹120 crore at the box office, earning the distinction of being the highest-grossing Gujarati film to date. However, the story behind the making of this film is just as fascinating as its success.
The film was directed by Gujarati engineer Ankit Sakhiya. After the film’s massive success, Sakhiya revealed the struggles behind its making in an interview. Remarkably, the film was produced on a modest budget of just ₹50 lakh. Despite this, it became the first Gujarati film to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office.
In an interview, Ankit Sakhiya shared several interesting details about the film’s production. He revealed that the entire movie was shot using only one camera, which he had borrowed from a friend. Speaking to Hollywood Reporter India, he recalled an incident from the shoot.
“The entire film was shot with a single camera, which belonged to my friend. During the shoot, the camera fell down once. Still, we remained positive and never allowed negative thoughts to take over. At one point, the camera slipped from the hands of our Director of Photography, but instead of panicking, we calmly checked it and found that it was working fine.”

Ankit further explained that their sole focus was to complete the film, no matter the circumstances. With extremely limited resources, the team relied on makeshift arrangements to finish the shoot. Due to the lack of funds, there were times when he had to personally arrange meals. This was not a conventional film set, but more like a school project that they somehow managed to complete through sheer determination.
The film’s budget was raised with help from his friends. Speaking about this, Ankit said, “I am a civil engineer, and most of my friends are sons of builders. They supported me by saving money from their travel expenses. Whenever I needed funds, they helped without hesitation. That’s how we managed to shoot and survive. This film is not just a business venture—it is pure passion.”
Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate has also been recognized as one of the most profitable films in India in 2025. With a total box office collection of around ₹121 crore, the film has generated extraordinary profits compared to its modest budget. Interestingly, the film opened with a collection of just ₹2 lakh, but strong word of mouth helped it grow steadily and eventually cross the ₹100 crore milestone.
