The upcoming film starring Manoj Bajpayee has landed in serious trouble after allegations were raised that its title hurts the sentiments of the Pandit community. A legal notice has been filed against the makers of the film in Mumbai by advocate Ashutosh Dubey, who claimed that the title is disrespectful and offensive to the community.

Apart from Mumbai, complaints have also been registered against the film in Bhopal and Lucknow. According to an NDTV report, an FIR was filed against the film under the directions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The report states that the content of the film could potentially disturb social harmony and unity.
Makers Respond to the Allegations
Responding to the controversy, the film’s co-writer Neeraj Pandey and actor Manoj Bajpayee issued a clarification through their official X (formerly Twitter) accounts. They stated that there was no intention to insult or offend any caste or community. According to them, the title was chosen because the main character in the film is addressed by that name within the storyline.
