After making a mark with her acting career, Shweta Tripathi is now stepping into the world of film production. She is all set to produce her first feature film, and the title of the project has already been announced. Shweta will begin her journey as a producer with the film titled Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan.

Best known for her powerful performance as Golu in Mirzapur, Shweta Tripathi has captivated audiences with her versatile roles. Now, she is ready to showcase her creative vision behind the camera. Interestingly, this is not her first experience in production — she has previously produced the stage play Cock, which received a positive response.

In Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan, Shweta not only takes on the role of producer but also stars in the lead role alongside Tillotama Shome, a critically acclaimed actress known for films like Monsoon Wedding, Qissa, Sir, and Paatal Lok.

The film explores a queer love story, and its title suggests a poetic and emotional journey. Shweta, known for her roles in Masaan, Mirzapur, and Laakhon Mein Ek, is presenting this film as her first feature-length production. The film promises to be deeply emotional, thought-provoking, and socially relevant.

Award-winning director Sanjoy Nag, known for Memories in March and Yours Truly, will helm the project. Speaking about the film,  Shweta Tripathi  said, “This story is very close to my heart. Working with Tillotama Shome is incredibly special — I’ve admired her work for years.”

The film is expected to go on floors by the end of 2025, with additional cast and crew details to be revealed in the coming months.

With Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan, Shweta Tripathi aims to shed light on important themes of love, identity, and representation. She hopes the film will resonate emotionally with viewers and spark meaningful conversations.

While several short films have previously explored LGBTQ+ themes, very few full-length feature films have addressed them as sensitively. One notable example is the film Badhaai Do, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, which presented LGBTQ+ issues through a light-hearted yet meaningful narrative.
