Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi recently opened up about his personal life and his wife Maria during Raj Shamani’s podcast interview. In this candid conversation, he spoke about how they met, Maria’s personality, and the qualities that make her a perfect homemaker and life partner.
How Arshad and Maria Met
Before entering the film industry, Arshad worked in various fields. He tried his hand as a salesman, a dance choreographer, and even directed stage plays. During this phase, he met Maria through a dance show.
Arshad recalls, “At that time, I was choreographing dance routines. One day, I saw a girl in a college performing beautifully. Soon after, she joined my dance group. That’s how our friendship began and slowly turned into a close bond.”
After several years of being together, Arshad and Maria got married. Maria, a Christian by faith, continues to visit church regularly and lives with deep devotion to her beliefs.
“She Is the Perfect Wife in Every Sense”
Arshad fondly shared how Maria stood by him through every phase of his career.
“There were times when I had no work, but Maria supported me completely. Our household ran because of her hard work. Even today, if I ever run out of work, I know she will manage everything with grace and strength.”
He added,
“She is a perfect homemaker — she takes care of the family beautifully and looks after her parents with great love and responsibility. She’s calm, understanding, and deeply compassionate.”
Family and Early Life
Arshad and Maria are now proud parents of two children; their son is around 20 years old. Arshad lost his parents when he was young, which brought responsibilities on him early in life.
“I decided early on that I didn’t want to do a regular 9-to-5 job,” he shared. “So I started exploring different kinds of work — that journey eventually led me into films.”

Ups and Downs in His Career
At the beginning of his career, Arshad played lead roles in a few films. However, he soon faced a dry spell.
“Sometimes, you get a lot of work in the industry,” he said. “But if one or two films flop, offers stop coming in. That’s when I shifted towards supporting and comic roles to re-establish myself.”
His role as ‘Circuit’ in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. became a turning point in his career. Later, he starred in several hit comedy franchises like ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Dhamaal’, earning immense love from audiences for his impeccable comic timing.
Upcoming Projects
Arshad Warsi will soon be seen in a serious role in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “King.” Previously, he delivered a strong performance in ‘Jolly LLB 3’, which was both a critical and commercial success.
