Actor Vipin Bhardwaj, who is part of Salman Khan’s upcoming war film Battle of Galwan, recently spoke in an interview about the film’s extremely demanding shooting schedule. He shared several gripping anecdotes and spoke in detail about the challenges faced during the shoot.
Shooting Amid Harsh Weather Conditions in Ladakh
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Vipin Bhardwaj revealed that when the cast and crew first arrived in Ladakh, the weather was relatively stable. However, conditions changed suddenly, and heavy rainfall began. Within just a day or two, the rainfall became so intense that the weather department first issued an orange alert, followed by a red alert. During this period, even civilians were advised not to step out of their homes.
Director Personally Assessed the Risk
Reaching the shooting location required passing through a high-risk zone. Instead of sending crew members, director Apoorva Lakhia personally went to assess the situation. After closely monitoring the weather and safety conditions for nearly an hour, the cast and crew were called to the location.
Battle of Galwan is a Salman Khan–starrer war film that has been shot in extremely cold and challenging locations like Ladakh. The film’s first shooting schedule was completed entirely in Ladakh.
A War Film Based on the Galwan Valley Clash
Battle of Galwan is based on the conflict that took place in the Galwan Valley. All scenes related to the Galwan sequence were completed during the first schedule itself. The makers ensured that the winter schedule was wrapped up before the onset of extreme winter conditions.
Earlier as well, Salman Khan and other crew members had spoken about the difficulties they faced while shooting in Ladakh’s harsh terrain and weather.

Star Cast and Release Update
Apart from Salman Khan, the film features several new actors, including Ankur Bhatia, Abhilash Chaudhary, Zeyn Shaw, and Heera Soha. Chitrangada Singh will be seen as the female lead in the film.
The film was initially scheduled for a March release. However, due to the March releases of Dhurandhar and Toxic, Battle of Galwan has now been postponed.
