Rohit Shetty recently gave an interview to Komal Nahta on his podcast Game Changers. In this candid conversation, Rohit spoke about his signature filmmaking style and his overall career in the industry. He answered many of Komal Nahta’s questions openly, sharing several behind-the-scenes insights. During the interview, this acclaimed director, who has grown up in Bollywood, also revealed the unique bond he shares with Ajay Devgn. Here’s what Rohit had to say.

Rohit Shetty is one of the most prominent directors in Bollywood. Komal Nahta’s Game Changers podcast has featured many renowned directors, and this time, it was Bollywood’s action-stunt king Rohit Shetty who joined the conversation for an open-hearted chat. Over the years, Rohit has delivered one hit film after another. Audiences are especially crazy about his Singham and Golmaal franchises.

However, Rohit’s journey from being an action director to becoming one of Bollywood’s top filmmakers wasn’t easy. He recalls, “It was Ajay Devgn who gave me the opportunity to direct my first film in Bollywood.” Interestingly, Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s father M. B. Shetty were both action directors.

Because of this shared background, a special bond existed between the two families. Rohit and Ajay have known each other since childhood. Ajay gave Rohit his first break as a director with the film Zameer, although the movie didn’t do well at the box office. Still, Ajay stood firmly by Rohit’s side, as Rohit himself mentioned.

Later, Ajay and Rohit teamed up again for hits like Sunday and Golmaal, and it was the blockbuster success of Golmaal that truly solidified their partnership. Since then, they have continued to work together in hugely successful franchises like Golmaal and Singham. Together, this duo has delivered many hits to Bollywood. Rohit deeply values Ajay’s contribution to his career.

Rohit Shetty shared, “If I’m ever in trouble, the first person I would call is Ajay Devgn. He has supported me a lot in life, and I respect him immensely. I look up to him as my elder brother.”
