Raashii Khanna has been finalised as the female lead in Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming film Naagzhila. She will be seen sharing screen space with Kartik for the first time.
Kartik, who has a packed film lineup ahead, is all set to play an ‘ichchhadhari naag’ (a shape-shifting serpent) in this mythological drama. Until now, only Kartik’s name had been confirmed for the project, but the makers have now officially locked Raashii Khanna as the female lead.
Naagzhila will be a mythological film with a unique comedic blend, and it promises to showcase Kartik in a never-seen-before avatar. Directed by Fukrey fame Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film will be produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. The film is scheduled for a grand release on Nag Panchami – August 14, 2026.
Earlier, the makers unveiled a poster showing Kartik from the back, surrounded by a giant serpent. He appears bare-chested, with serpent-like designs across his body—hinting at the mystical and mythological theme of the film. The poster has already stirred excitement among fans, and the film is expected to go on floors soon.

Apart from Naagzhila, Kartik is currently busy with Dharma’s upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera, where he stars opposite Ananya Panday. He has also begun work on a musical romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu, in which South star Sreeleela plays the female lead. The film’s title is yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, another major mythological film in the works is Mahavatar, based on Parshuram, starring Vicky Kaushal in a traditional mythological role. The film is being directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films.
With mythological films receiving increasing appreciation from audiences, Kartik Aaryan is set to enter the genre for the first time. Fans are eagerly waiting to see him in this transformative new role.
