Bollywood’s leading action star John Abraham is all set to reprise his iconic role as ACP Yashvardhan Singh in the third instalment of the popular Force franchise. Titled ‘Force 3’, the much-anticipated film will mark the franchise’s return nearly nine years after its last release.
This time, the film will be directed by a new but talented filmmaker, and John himself will be actively involved in the production.
John to Reprise His Powerful Role as ACP Yashvardhan
Among the many memorable characters played by John Abraham, ACP Yashvardhan from Force remains a fan-favourite. With the first part releasing in 2011 and the second in 2016, the actor is now returning in Force 3 with renewed energy and intensity.
‘Lucky Bhaskar’ Fame Meenakshi Chaudhary Joins as the Female Lead
Joining John in Force 3 is Meenakshi Chaudhary, known for her performance in Lucky Bhaskar. According to sources, she has been finalised as the lead female protagonist opposite John. Interestingly, Meenakshi will also be seen performing action sequences in the film.
The previous instalments featured Genelia D’Souza as the female lead in Force (2011) and Sonakshi Sinha in Force 2 (2016). Now, with Force 3, the makers are introducing a fresh face, promising a new dynamic to the franchise.
From Police Biopic to Franchise Sequel
Currently, John Abraham is shooting for a police biopic directed by Rohit Shetty, where he plays the role of former IPS officer Rakesh Maria. The film is expected to be a high-octane action drama, perfectly aligning with John’s on-screen persona. After wrapping up this project, he will shift focus to Force 3.
New Director Onboard – Bhav Dhulia Takes the Helm
Force 3 will be directed by Bhav Dhulia, who steps into the role of lead director for the first time. Though a debutant in this position, Dhulia has previously worked as an assistant director on acclaimed films like Paan Singh Tomar and Drishyam. He has also directed popular web series such as Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Freelancer.
When Will Filming Begin?
As per reports, the script of Force 3 is complete, and filming is expected to begin by the end of 2025. John will once again don the avatar of ACP Yashvardhan, bringing back the intense screen presence that made the previous instalments a hit.
