Bollywood pop singer Mika Singh has recently shared his opinion on the ongoing controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sardaar 3. In this debate, Mika took a strong stand in favor of the nation, saying that when it comes to art versus country, the country must come first. He also opposed the inclusion of Pakistani actors in Indian films.

The controversy began after the trailer of Sardaar 3 was released, featuring a Pakistani actress. Many viewers were upset and began calling for a boycott of the film. Several social media users even criticized Diljit for working in a film with Pakistani talent.

Though Mika Singh didn’t mention names directly, he reportedly referred to Diljit as a “fake singer” and expressed his disapproval over his choice to work in this project. The film features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a lead role, and it comes at a time of rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Following the recent Operation Sindhoor, several artists have shown open support for their respective nations. Hania had previously tweeted in support of Pakistan, which sparked backlash and renewed calls to ban Pakistani artists from working in India.

Reacting to the casting of Hania in Sardaar 3, Mika took to his Instagram story and wrote:
“Nation first. We all know the current relations between India and Pakistan are not good. Still, some people are being careless. Any content featuring cross-border actors should be released only after careful thought — especially when national pride is at stake.”

He further added:
“There was once a film starring Vaani Kapoor and Fawad Khan. I was completely against that too. But some people still don’t seem to understand. The surprising part is that one fake singer, who has done 10 shows in India and earned thousands of fans, has now disappeared. His fans feel deeply betrayed.”

In response to the backlash, Diljit Dosanjh had addressed trolls by saying:
“A war is going on between two nations, and that is beyond our control. But music is something that connects people. I feel fortunate to be a part of something that spreads love between nations. We must remember that we are all children of the same Earth, and the motherland comes first.”
