Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s upcoming comedy-drama Bhool Chuk Maaf is ready for release. Originally scheduled for a theatrical launch, the film’s theatrical release has now been canceled. Instead, the movie will premiere directly on an OTT platform.
According to recent updates, Bhool Chuk Maaf will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting May 16, 2025. Audiences will now be able to enjoy this comedy-drama from the comfort of their homes.
Plot with a Time-Rewind Twist
Produced by Maddock Films, Bhool Chuk Maaf is a romantic comedy with a unique twist. Set in North India, it tells the story of a young couple. Rajkummar Rao plays the lead character, who finds himself caught in a mysterious time loop on the day of his wedding. Every time he tries to move forward, he’s thrown back into the events of the same day – the haldi ceremony. Interestingly, the female lead, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, remains unaware of this loop, making the situation both hilarious and challenging for Rao’s character.
Reason for OTT Release: Political Tension
The decision to skip the theatrical release was influenced by the recent tensions between India and Pakistan. Due to security concerns related to this political situation, the filmmakers decided to avoid a theatrical debut and instead opted for a safer OTT release.
