Did You Know? Siddhant Chaturvedi Turned Down a Big Film Like Brahmāstra Even During His Struggling Days — Here’s Why

according to the  http://www.pinkvilla.com

Siddhant Chaturvedi has carved a distinct identity for himself in Bollywood in a remarkably short span of time. Through a range of diverse roles, he has made a strong impression on audiences. However, very few people know that he once turned down a big-budget film like Brahmāstra even while he was still struggling to make his mark.

A Talented Actor from a Middle-Class Background

Siddhant, known for films like Gully Boy and Inside Edge, hails from a humble middle-class family. In an exclusive interview with Lallantop, he spoke in detail about his family background. He revealed that he was originally pursuing studies to become a Chartered Accountant (CA), but due to his strong passion for acting, he decided to take a leap of faith and enter the world of cinema.

A Struggling Start and a Big Decision

Siddhant shares that his journey in the film industry was far from easy. He had to go through countless auditions and put in immense hard work to reach where he is today. During this journey, there came a time when he was offered a role in Brahmāstra, but he chose to decline it.

Why Did He Reject Brahmāstra?

He was offered a small but specific role in the film. Prior to that, Siddhant had worked on a mini-TV show and appeared in Inside Edge. Following these, he received a call for Brahmāstra — a high-budget science fiction film heavily reliant on special effects, featuring big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Siddhant explains, “There wasn’t much scope for me as an actor in that film. The role offered to me was very small, so I chose to say no. A casting director even told me I must be crazy to reject a Dharma Productions film! But I felt there was nothing meaningful for me to do in that character, so I decided to let it go.”

Aiming for Meaningful Roles

Siddhant says, “My dream is to take on roles that are different, unique, and leave a lasting impression. I work extremely hard to achieve that.” That hard work paid off when he was offered Gully Boy, where he played the iconic character of MC Sher. His performance received immense appreciation, and even Amitabh Bachchan personally wrote him a letter praising his work.

His Journey So Far and Upcoming Projects

With sheer dedication and rare talent, Siddhant has managed to establish a place for himself in Bollywood. After Gully Boy, he went on to appear in films like Gehraiyaan, Phone Bhoot, and Bunty Aur Babli 2. More recently, he starred in Dhadak 2 — a Dharma Productions film — alongside Triptii Dimri in a romantic lead. He also has several other films currently in the pipeline.
