An important update has emerged regarding Vicky Kaushal’s much-awaited and highly discussed upcoming project Mahavatar’. This mythological film, which was initially planned for a 2026 release, has now been postponed and will hit screens in 2027.

From Christmas 2026 to 2027 Release

According to the earlier schedule, ‘Mahavatar’ was set to complete filming by the end of 2025 and release during Christmas 2026. However, due to production-related challenges and scheduling conflicts, the film has been delayed by six months and is now expected to release sometime in 2027.

Delay Due to Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’?

Vicky Kaushal is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Love & War’. Several portions of the film are being shot at historic locations and elaborate sets, which has extended its shooting schedule. As a result, the delays in ‘Love & War’ have impacted the timeline of ‘Mahavatar’ as well.
