South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna has recently shared her views on the failure of Sikandar, the Salman Khan–starrer. She revealed that the film’s story was initially very different, but the final version that reached audiences changed significantly.

Salman Khan’s Sikandar turned out to be a major box-office failure. After the film’s poor performance, there was widespread discussion about the reasons behind its failure. It was also reported that director A. R. Murugadoss held Salman Khan partly responsible for the film’s disappointing outcome. Now, Rashmika Mandanna has also spoken openly about the film.

According to Rashmika, there was a substantial difference between the script she was initially narrated and the final film that was made. In Sikandar, she played the role of Salman Khan’s wife. Her character dies in the first half of the film, after which Salman Khan’s character is shown seeking revenge for her death.

Speaking about this, Rashmika said,
“Whatever happened later was quite different. The story that was narrated to me initially was genuinely different. However, this is something that often happens in films. The story you hear at the beginning and the one that finally appears on screen usually changes. Due to actors’ performances, editing, and release schedules, several changes are made to the script.”

After Sikandar, director Murugadoss went on to make a film titled Madrasi, which also failed at the box office. During the promotions of that film, Murugadoss said in an interview with a news portal that he had learned many lessons from the failure of Sikandar. According to him, working with a major star can be extremely challenging.

Murugadoss also revealed that during the shooting of Sikandar, many daytime scenes had to be filmed at night because Salman Khan would arrive on set late. He added that while his team is used to working in the mornings, the working culture in North India is different. He also mentioned that shooting night scenes with school-going children was particularly difficult.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy with his upcoming film Battle of Galwan, which is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia. On the other hand, Rashmika Mandanna is also occupied with several upcoming projects.
