Tarun Mansukhani’s Housefull 5, a crime-thriller comedy film, has been released and collected ₹23 crore on its opening day. After a long gap, Tarun has returned to directing, and the film has received a great deal of love from audiences on day one. Amid this success, he recently expressed his views on Deepika Padukone’s insistence on an 8-hour shooting shift. Let’s find out what Tarun Mansukhani had to say.

In an interview with India Today during promotions for Housefull 5, Tarun said, “As a director, I don’t have a problem with an 8-hour shift. However, if an actor wants to work only 8 hours a day, then they must give the director additional days. A lot goes into shooting—actor scheduling, location availability, and budget constraints. So, if the actor arrives at 11 AM, they can’t just say they need to leave by 5 PM.”

Deepika’s Demands for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit Sparked Industry-Wide Reactions

Deepika Padukone’s strong demands for her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit had earlier triggered widespread discussions in the film industry. Many directors and actors were questioned by the media about their thoughts on 8-hour shifts for female actors. Earlier, during the launch of Kajol’s horror film Maa, Ajay Devgn was asked the same question. He responded by saying that any sensible producer is always aware of such things and that it has been this way for a long time.

Deepika’s Major Demands in Spirit

Deepika had been officially signed for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. However, she reportedly made several significant demands regarding the shoot. According to Sandeep, she insisted on working only 8 hours a day and also asked for a share in the film’s profits. Due to these disagreements, Sandeep eventually decided to drop Deepika from the film.

It has now been reported that Triptii Dimri will replace Deepika in Spirit. The film is expected to be a bold cop drama and is likely to receive an A certificate due to its content. With this project, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to deliver yet another intense, edgy film.
