A Special Event for Fans — ‘SRK Day’
On November 2, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 60th birthday with a special event in Mumbai titled ‘SRK Day’, organized exclusively for his fans.
During this event, SRK spoke about several of his films, and one of the questions he was asked was about the sequel to his superhero movie ‘Ra.One’.
“‘Ra.One’ Is Very Close to My Heart,” Says Shah Rukh Khan
Responding to the question, Shah Rukh said, “‘Ra.One’ is a film that’s very close to my heart. Director Anubhav Sinha worked extremely hard to make it. At that time, I hoped it would start a new trend in Indian cinema. God has given me the privilege of being in a position where I can try something new and inspiring for audiences.”
He further added,
“I believed that through ‘Ra.One,’ India could explore the superhero genre, visual effects (VFX), and advanced technology in films. It could inspire studios and creators to make more innovative cinema.”
“‘Ra.One’ Was Ahead of Its Time”
According to Shah Rukh, Ra.One was way ahead of its time.
“Back then, audiences didn’t connect with the film as much as I had expected. But now, when people revisit it, they seem to appreciate it more,” he said.
He continued,
“When the film released, things like PlayStations, video games, and iPads were relatively new concepts. Today, people understand and relate to them better — that’s why ‘Ra.One’ is being appreciated more in the current times.”
On the Possibility of a Sequel
When asked about a possible sequel to Ra.One, Shah Rukh replied,
“If Anubhav Sinha decides to make it, then he should be the one to direct the sequel. He created that world, and he has the right vision for it.”
