A film based on the real-life event of Operation Khukri has been officially announced. In the movie, Randeep Hooda will be playing the role of a military officer. He is set to portray Major General Rajpal Punia.

Operation Khukri, one of the most complex military operations undertaken by the Indian Army, will now be brought to the silver screen. In the year 2000, India, Ghana, Britain, and Nigeria jointly carried out a mission in Sierra Leone, South Africa. During this mission, they rescued 233 Indian soldiers. This critical army operation was led by Major General Rajpal Punia.

The movie is being adapted from the book Operation Khukri. Randeep Hooda has acquired the rights to this book for the film. This will be Randeep’s first appearance in a military drama. The movie is set to be a military war film and will showcase the bravery and valor of the Indian Armed Forces. The audience will witness a thrilling narrative of how the Indian Army rescued the trapped soldiers in South Africa.

Randeep Hooda, known for his role in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, will be seen for the first time in a military officer’s avatar. Randeep has portrayed various roles in Bollywood. Recently, he starred in the biopic of Veer Savarkar, for which he underwent a major physical transformation. He has also played a cop and appeared as a villain in Jaat.
