The shooting of the film Kantara: The Legend is currently underway. However, a series of accidents have been plaguing the set. This latest incident marks the third consecutive mishap during the film’s production. Previous accidents on set have resulted in both financial losses and, unfortunately, loss of life. According to the latest reports, yet another accident has occurred during filming.
As per a report, during the shoot of Kantara Chapter 2, a boat carrying several crew members along with actor-director Rishab Shetty overturned in the Varahi River in Karnataka. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident, although some film equipment was damaged. It has been confirmed that Rishab Shetty himself was on the boat. All crew members were rescued safely.
Local police were immediately informed about the accident and are currently investigating the matter. This is not the first mishap associated with the film. Earlier, a junior artist drowned during a shoot in the Kullur region of Karnataka. Prior to that, a fire broke out in the forest during a jungle shoot, causing significant damage to the local ecosystem.
The filming of Kantara Chapter 2 continues across various scenic locations in South India. This film is a sequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, which captivated audiences with its mythological themes and deep-rooted South Indian traditions and customs. Rishab Shetty, who directed and starred in the first installment, is once again helming the sequel.
