The trailer launch of Maddock Films’ upcoming horror film Thama’ was recently held in a grand event, drawing a massive crowd of enthusiastic fans. During the launch, the team gave subtle hints about the expansion of their horror universe, teasing new and exciting projects.

One of the major highlights of the event was actress Shraddha Kapoor, who appeared in her iconic ‘Stree’ look, dressed in a red saree with a long braid. While interacting with fans, she made a surprising announcement — an animated version of ‘Stree’ is currently in development and will be released soon.

Maddock Films is all set to present their blockbuster horror-comedy ‘Stree’ in an animated format. The animated film will serve as a prequel and will be released six months prior to the theatrical release of ‘Stree 3’.

Maddock’s Horror Universe – Bigger and Bolder Plans Ahead

During the event, Dinesh Vijan also revealed that Maddock Films is planning a massive expansion of its horror universe following the release of Thama. Upcoming films like ‘Stree 3’, ‘Shakti Shalini’, and ‘Chamunda’ are already in the pipeline.

In addition, recognizing the growing market for animated films in India, Maddock is experimenting with this format through the animated version of ‘Stree’. Vijan mentioned that the success of ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’, an animated film that received a strong theatrical response, served as a key inspiration for venturing into this genre.

‘Thama’ – A Horror Blockbuster Lined Up for Diwali

Apart from future projects, Maddock’s immediate focus is on ‘Thama’, which is scheduled for a Diwali 2025 theatrical release. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, with Paresh Rawal playing a key supporting character. The film is set to hit theatres on 21st October 2025, promising a spooky and entertaining festive season.
