A new actress is expected to step into the lead female role, though her name has yet to be officially announced. Lakshya Lalwani and Vikrant Massey have been confirmed for the film.
The story revolves around the emotional dynamics of three individuals and their evolving friendship. The plot retains the essence of the original — a love triangle with a blend of drama, emotion, and vibrant music, but reimagined for a new generation and a digital-first audience.

Lakshya Lalwani had previously worked with Dharma Productions on the action film Kill, while Dostana 2 will mark Vikrant Massey’s debut with the production house.
