Director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part Ramayana has officially become the most expensive film franchise in Indian cinema history. According to reports from reputed sources, the total budget for both parts is an eye-watering ₹1600 crores.

A Grand Vision: ₹1600 Crores for Two Parts

The film, based on the epic Ramayana, features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana. The makers recently unveiled the film’s logo and teaser, which created a massive storm online, further fuelling audience excitement and expectations.

The teaser showcases high-scale visual effects and grandeur, offering a glimpse into the massive scale and cinematic brilliance the film aims to deliver. From cutting-edge VFX to international collaborations, the film’s production scale is unlike anything Indian cinema has seen before.

Where the Money Went

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, ₹900 crores have been spent on Part One, while ₹700 crores are allocated for Part Two. Since the sets and props from Part One will be reused, the second part’s primary expenses will be for action sequences and post-production enhancements.

The VFX work is being handled by top global studios, including Prime Focus and DNEG, owned by Namit Malhotra, who is also producing the film. It is co-produced by Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The makers are treating the ₹1600 crore budget as a unified investment to create an impactful global cinematic experience.
