Retro Earns ₹60 Crore at the Box Office
Released on May 1, Suriya’s action film Retro had a phenomenal box office run. It earned ₹19 crore on its opening day alone. The film continued its momentum with houseful shows throughout its first week, collecting ₹52 crore in just seven days. In its second week, the film maintained a steady performance, eventually earning a total of ₹60 crore across all languages in India.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro features Suriya alongside Pooja Hegde in the lead. The film’s plot follows a gangster who promises his wife to give up violence, only to realize that escaping his past is more difficult than he imagined. The film will be available for streaming on Netflix very soon.
